- Mutes were paid mourners in the Victorian era, whose jobs were to attend funerals to make it more.
- Matera Rose's body is dead - she is more machine than organic.
Chapter 3 Company
- Chenille admits she's a spy and working with Doctor Crane.
Chapter 4 The Prochein Ami
- The prolocutor who is Silk's boss is caught eavesdropping.
- Remora: a suckerfish.
- Quetzal: striking coloured birds. The Prolocutor.
- Remora tells Silk that it was his suggestion to send him to this area, since he was the strongest.
- Beef tea and Quetzal are linked.
